About me

Meteora Translations is a freelance translation agency and it was founded in September 2023. 

The face behind your translations is Tessa Knevels. Hi! I graduated from Ghent University (Belgium) in 2019. With a Master's degree in Translation and a Postgraduate Certificate in Computer-Assisted Language Mediation, I decided to go live in Spain to improve my Spanish and to be submersed in the Spanish culture.

I started my translation career in Madrid at Lastminute.com where I took care of all tourism translations. After the pandemic struck, my journey at this travel agency came to an end.

I then went to work for Electronic Arts as a Dutch Localization Tester, where I contributed to the testing and localization of The Sims and FIFA 2022, amongst many other games.

After this interesting and technical experience, I became an in-house Dutch Linguist at Openbank (Banco Santander) where I took care of financial and legal translations and translations of marketing campaigns for the website and app. Furthermore, I was responsible for the localization of the website and app, and managing the website in a content management system.

All these interesting working-experiences made me grow as a translator. I learned a lot in my past jobs, but now it's time to combine all my experience and passion and provide my services as a freelance translator, under the name of 'Meteora Translations'.
